Farrell Earns All-American Honors

Middlebury College field hockey player Lacey Farrell (Greenwich, Conn.) has been named a second-team All-American by the NFHCA (National Field Hockey Coaches Association). The junior helped lead the Panthers to a 14-4 record this season, including a trip to the NESCAC Finals and an NCAA Regional.

FH Players Earn Regional Honors - Two Go To Senior Game

Three members of the Middlebury College field hockey team were honored today when the NFHCA (National Field Hockey Coaches Association) announced its all-region teams. Junior Lacey Farrell (Greenwich, Conn.) was a first-team honoree, while senior Meghan McGillen (E. Harwich, Mass.), junior Reid Berrien (Westport, Conn.) and sophomore Taryn Petrelli (Harrison, N.Y.) all were second-team All-New England West selections.

Panthers Fall To William Smith In NCAA Regional

The Panther field hockey team saw its season come to an end as they fell 2-1 to William Smith in an NCAA Regional contest at Bowdoin. Middlebury finishes the year at 14-4, while William Smith will meet Bowdoin in the regional final on Sunday.

Four members of the Middlebury College field hockey team were honored today when the NESCAC announced its all-conference teams. The Middlebury College field hockey team will makes its fourth consecutive and seventh overall appearance in the NCAA Tournament in a regional this weekend hosted by Bowdoin. The Panthers (14-3) will take on William Smith (17-3) on Saturday, November 11th at 2:00 p.m. The host school meets Wellesley at 11:00 a.m. in the other match-up. The winners will meet in the regional final on Sunday at 1:00.

Field Hockey Falls In NESCAC Title Game

The Middlebury field hockey team fell at Bowdoin 1-0 in the NESCAC Championship game on Sunday afternoon. The Polar Bears (15-1) earn their third NESCAC Championship overall and clinch the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Middlebury (14-3), who ranked fourth in the latest national poll, will likely receive an at-large bid to the Tournament when pairings are announced on Sunday evening.

Bowdoin College will defend its 2005 NESCAC Field Hockey crown this weekend when the Polar Bears host the 2006 NESCAC Field Hockey Championship at Ryan Field in Brunswick, Maine. Top-seeded Bowdoin will take on sixth-seeded Amherst on Saturday, Nov. 4, at 11:00 a.m. in the first semifinal, followed afterwards at 1:30 p.m. with second-seeded Middlebury squaring off against fourth-seeded Tufts. The 2006 NESCAC Field Hockey Championship will conclude on Sunday, Nov. 5, with the final beginning at 12:00 p.m.

Field Hockey Tops Wesleyan - Advances To NESCAC Semi's

Middlebury held off a late charge by Wesleyan, picking up a 3-2 win in a NESCAC Tournament first-round match-up on Kohn Field. The Panthers advances to the semifinals next Saturday at Bowdoin and will take on Tufts at 1:30 p.m. The host school meets Amherst in the other semifinal game at 11:00, with the title game set for noon on Sunday. Wesleyan ends its season at 6-9.

Field Hockey Tops Trinity

Middlebury ended its regular season at 12-2 as they picked up a 3-1 win over Trinity in the NESCAC season finale for both teams. The Panthers will host Wesleyan on Sunday at 1:00 in a first-round game, while Trinity’s destiny will not be determined until later today.

Field Hockey Upset By Rensselaer

Kristiina Baker posted two goals and added an assist in leading Rensselaer to a 4-3 upset over Middlebury in non-conference field hockey action.

Middlebury earned its sixth shutout of the season as they defeated Bates 3-0 on Kohn Field. Dana Rye earned the hat-trick for the Panthers, taking over the team-lead with nine goals on the season.

McGillen Earns Player Of The Week Honors

Middlebury College field hockey player Meghan McGillen (Harwich, Mass.) has been named the NESCAC player of the week. The senior goalkeeper was the backbone for the Panthers during two wins last week over nationally-ranked opponents. On Saturday at NESCAC foe Williams, McGillen made 11 saves to post her fifth shutout of the season during a 2-0 win over the previously unbeaten Ephs. She followed up the feat with seven more saves in a 3-2 overtime win over Ursinus.

Panthers Top Ursinus In OT

Michelle Archambault scored the game-winning goal on a penalty stroke in overtime to lead No. 9 Middlebury past fifth-ranked Ursinus in non-conference field hockey action on Sunday.

Field Hockey With Huge NESCAC Win At Williams

Middlebury picked up a key NESCAC win as the eighth-ranked Panthers earned a 2-0 win at fourth-ranked Williams. The shutout is the fifth of the season for the 9-1 Panthers.

Dana Rye’s goal at the 4:14 mark of overtime lifted eighth ranked Middlebury to a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Keene State in a non-conference field hockey game played at Owl Athletic Complex on Thursday.

Lindsay McNamara scored the game-winning goal with just 1:35 to play, lifting the 12th-ranked Bowdoin College field hockey team to a 3-2 victory over eighth-ranked Middlebury on Sunday. The Polar Bears (6-1, 3-1 NESCAC) win their 13th straight home game as the Panthers (6-1, 4-1 NESCAC) lose for the first time this season.
