Field Hockey Camp Offered

The Middlebury College field hockey program has announced it camp schedule for the summer of '09. The camps will take place on Middlebury's artificial fields from July 13-15. Three camps are offered to meet the needs of every level of player.

Petrelli & Delano Earn All-American Honors

Senior Taryn Petrelli (Harrison, N.Y.) and sophomore Chase Delano (Greenwich, Conn.) have both earned All-American honors by the NFHCA (National Field Hockey Coaches Association). Delano was a first-team selection, while Petrelli earned a spot on the second team. The duo helped lead the Panthers to a 14-4 record with a trip to the NCAA quarterfinals.

Field Hockey Players Earn Regional Honors

Three members of the Middlebury College field hockey team earned New England West All-Region honors by the NFHCA (National Field Hockey Coaches Association). Field Hockey Falls In NCAA Regional Final

Middlebury saw its season come to an end with a 3-1 loss to Bowdoin in an NCAA Regional Final contest in Maine. The Panthers end their season with a solid 14-4 record, while defending NCAA Champion Bowdoin advances to the final four.

Field Hockey Headed To NCAA Regional Final

Middlebury's Chase Delano scored three goals to lead the Panther field hockey team to a 5-2 victory over Lebanon Valley in the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament on Saturday at Bowdoin College. The Panthers (14-3) advance to play the host Polar Bears in Sunday's Regional Final in a rematch of the 2007 National Championship game. Delano's three goals improve her season total to 26, setting a new Middlebury single-season record.

Three Panther Field Hockey Players Earn NESCAC Honors

Three members of the Middlebury College field hockey team were honored when the NESCAC released its All-Conference teams today. Senior Taryn Petrelli (Harrison, N.Y.) and sophomore Chase Delano (Greenwich, Conn.) were both named to the first-team, while junior Heather McCormack (Rowley, Mass.) earned second-team honors. The three are preparing for this weekend’s NCAA Regional at Bowdoin.

The Middlebury College field hockey team will makes its sixth consecutive and ninth overall appearance in the NCAA Tournament when they travel to Bowdoin for one of four, four-team NCAA Regionals on Saturday, November 15th and Sunday, November 16th. The Panthers will take on Lebanon Valley, a 6-0 winner over N.E.C., at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the host school meets Stevens, a 2-1 winner over Wooster, at 11:00 a.m. The winners meet on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. with a trip to the final four on the line.

Field Hockey Drops NESCAC Semifinal Game

Lindsay McNamara scored two goals and Julia King added a goal and an assist, as the #4 ranked Bowdoin field hockey team rolled to a 4-0 win against #6 Middlebury on Saturday afternoon in the NESCAC Tournament semifinals at Tufts University’s Bello Field. Despite the loss, the Panthers received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament and will travel to Bowdoin for a regional this weekend.

Undefeated Tufts University will look to continue its winning ways this weekend during the final rounds of the 2008 NESCAC Field Hockey Championship. The top-seeded Jumbos have earned the right to host and will face fifth-seeded Trinity in the first semifinal on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 11:00 a.m. The late semifinal will feature second seed and defending NESCAC and NCAA champion Bowdoin against third seed Middlebury. The 2008 NESCAC Field Hockey Championship concludes on Sunday with the final getting underway at 12:00 p.m.

Delano Earns Player Of The Week Honors

Middlebury College field hockey player Chase Delano (Greenwich, Conn.) has been named the NESCAC Player of the Week for the second time this season. Delano had five goals, including two game-winners, and an assist during the Panthers’ 3-0 week. On Wednesday at Rensselaer, Delano had the game’s first goal in a 2-0 victory. Saturday evening at Williams, Delano tallied the game-tying goal before assisting on the eventual winner in double-overtime in a 3-2 victory. She scored both Middlebury goals during Sunday’s 2-1 quarterfinal win over the Ephs. Delano now has 23 goals on the season, tying the program’s single-season record.

Field Hockey Tops Williams In NESCAC Quarters

Middlebury defeated Williams for the second time in three days, as the Panthers ended the Ephs season with a 2-1 victory on Kohn Field in a NESCAC Quarterfinal contest. Middlebury advances to play Bowdoin in a semifinal contest next Saturday at Tufts (1:30), while the host school meets Trinity in the other semifinal matchup (11:00). The winners will battle for the NESCAC Championship at noon on Sunday.

Field Hockey Tops Williams In 2OT

The Middlebury field hockey team ended the regular season with a 3-2 double overtime win at Williams in the final regular season game for both teams. The Panthers end the season as the third seed in the NESCAC Tournament, setting up a re-match with sixth-seeded Williams on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.  in a NESCAC quarterfinal game in Vermont.

Field Hockey Wins At RPI

The sixth-ranked Middlebury College field hockey team netted a goal in each half and held on to defeat Rensselaer at Harkness Field in N.Y.. With the win, the Panthers improve to 11-2 overall including 6-2 in the NESCAC, while the Red Hawks finish their season with an 8-9 mark (3-4 Liberty League).

Field Hockey Tops Conn.

Middlebury picked up its fourth straight win as the Panthers earned a 5-1 road victory at Connecticut College on Saturday. Heather McCormack had two goals and an assist in the win, as the Panthers held a 12-4 advantage in shots on the afternoon. With the win, Middlebury has locked up a NESCAC first-round home game and will host a contest on Sunday, November 2nd at 1:00.

Field Hockey Thumps Bates

Middlebury scored a season-high nine goals and picked up their 15th consecutive win over Bates, this time with a 9-0 shutout. The Panthers scored five times in the first half and outshot the Bobcats 23-7, holding a 10-2 advantage in penalty corners.

Field Hockey Blanks Keene

Middlebury picked up a 4-0 non-league win at Keene State on Tuesday night. The loss snapped Keene State’s (11-4) five game winning streak, while Middlebury, which had lost two out of its last three games, improves to 8-2. Chase Delano and Heather McCormack netted two goals each for the Panthers.

Field Hockey Falls To Tufts In OT

Tamara Brown scored just 3:31 into overtime to lift Tufts to a 3-2 NESCAC win over Middlebury on Kohn Field. The seventh-ranked Jumbos remain undefeated at 9-0 on the season, while the third-ranked Panthers fall to 7-2.

Field Hockey Tops Trinity

Trailing 1-0, Middlebury scored three goals in the first 14 minutes of the second half to come away with a 3-2 win over Trinity on Kohn Field. The Panthers entered the game ranked third in the latest national poll, while the Bantams were ranked 12th. Trinity suffers its first loss of the season, moving to 8-1 and 4-1 in league play, while Middlebury moves to 7-1 and 4-1 in the NESCAC.

Field Hockey Suffers First Loss Of The Season

In a battle between the nation's top two teams, the Bowdoin College field hockey team claimed a 2-0 victory over rival Middlebury on Saturday at Ryan Field. The top-ranked Polar Bears (9-0, 5-0 NESCAC) claimed the rematch of the 2007 NCAA Division III Championship game thanks to a pair of goals from Lindsay McNamara to earn their 38th straight home win and 29th consecutive win overall. Second-ranked Middlebury falls for the first time this season and drops to 6-1 (3-1 NESCAC) on the year.

Delano Named Player Of The Week

Middlebury College field hockey player Chase Delano (Greenwich, Conn.) has been named the NESCAC Player of the Week.. Delano posted three goals and an assist in the Panthers’ 7-3 victory at Colby on Saturday afternoon. With Colby leading 2-0 midway through the first half, Delano got the Middlebury offense going by assisting on her team’s first goal, then scored back-to-back goals in the closing moments of the half to put the Panthers up 3-2 at the break. Delano later added an insurance marker midway through the second half. She leads her team and the NESCAC with 27 points (11-5-27) on the season.

Field Hockey Scores Seven At Colby

Middlebury broke open a 3-2 game with four second half goals on its way to a 7-3 NESCAC road win at Colby. The Panthers (6-0 overall, 3-0 NESCAC) are ranked second in the country, while Colby falls to 2-4 overall and 0-3 in the league.

Field Hockey Remains Unbeaten

Middlebury had little trouble with Wesleyan as the Panthers defeated the Cardinals 6-2 in a NESCAC contest on Kohn Field. Middlebury is now 5-0 on the season and ranked fifth in the latest national poll.

Field Hockey Team Tops Springfield

Middlebury continued to roll as they used four first half goals en route to a 6-0 win over Springfield on Kohn Field. The fifth-ranked Panthers return to action when they host Wesleyan this Saturday at 11:00 a.m.

Field Hockey Moves To 3-0

Middlebury broke open a 2-2 game with three goals in a 5:55 span to pick up a 5-2 NESCAC win over Amherst. The Panthers move to 3-0 on the season, while the Jeffs fall to 1-1.

Field Hockey Blanks Skidmore

Seventh-ranked Middlebury scored two goals in the first 12:24 of the game on its way to a 2-0 win at 15th ranked Skidmore in non-conference action Wednesday afternoon at Thoroughbred Field.

Field Hockey Opens Season

The Middlebury field hockey team scored five first half goals on its way to a 6-2 victory over St. Lawrence in the team’s season-opener on Kohn Field. The Panthers return to action with a contest at Skidmore on Wednesday.
