Ellenberger Named To All-Region Team

First-year golfer Julie Ellenberger (Concord, Mass.) has been named to the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) All-Region team. The Middlebury rookie had a great first season with the Panthers, earning the team a top ranking in the northeast. She also set the collegiate women's course record with a 74 at the Taconic Golf Club in Williamstown, Massachusetts this spring.

Women's Golf Wins District Shootout

The Panther women’s golf team continued its most successful spring in school history as they won the Spring Shootout hosted by Williams College at the Taconic Golf Club. First-year player Julie Ellenberger (Concord, Mass.) set the course record by a collegiate woman, shooting a 74 on day one of the tournament. She followed that up with a 77 to win the two-day event with a 151.

Women's Golf Captures Amherst Tourney

The Panther women’s golf team returned to action this spring by capturing the 12-team Jack Leaman Women’s Championship hosted by Amherst over the weekend.

Middlebury Opens Spring Season

The Panther women's golf team opened up their spring season, taking part in the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational in Georgia. The team placed seventh overall in the 21-team event.

Women's Golf Competes At Wellesley

10/16/05 - The Panther women’s golf team finished up its fall season with a win at the rain-shortened Wellesley Invitational. The two-day tourney was shortened to one after heavy rains cancelled Saturday’s play. Middlebury won the event with a 343, followed by Wellesley with a 345.

Women's Golf Wins Invitational

10/2/05 - Middlebury won its own invitational at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course as the women's golf team finished with a score of 657. Mt. Holyoke placed second, followed by St. Lawrence and Wellesley. The invitational, which also doubled as the NESCAC Women's Golf Tournament, saw NESCAC teams Williams (5th) and Bowdoin (8th) also competing with full teams.

Panthers Compete At Mt. Holyoke

9/25/05 - The Middlebury College women’s golf team finished fifth out of 15 teams competing at the Mt. Holyoke Invitational. Wellesley won the event with a 676, while the Panthers shot a 692.

Women's Golf Opens Fall Season

9/18/05 - The Panther women’s golf team opened up the ’05 season by competing in a 17-team invitational hosted by Dartmouth. Middlebury placed 10th overall with a two-day total of 676, while Columbia won the event with a 610. The Panthers were one of only four Division III teams competing.

Golf Team Earns Top Ranking

8/15/05 - The Middlebury College golf programs were listed among the top schools in the country with a balanced golf and academic experience. The women’s team was ranked 11th, while the men were 22nd nationally in a September 2005 article in Golf Digest.
