Julie Ellenberger made history with a 74 at Taconic.

The Panther women’s golf team continued its most successful spring in school history as they won the Spring Shootout hosted by Williams College at the Taconic Golf Club. First-year player Julie Ellenberger (Concord, Mass.) set the course record by a collegiate woman, shooting a 74 on day one of the tournament. She followed that up with a 77 to win the two-day event with a 151.

Placing fifth for Middlebury was junior Heather Gallagher (Toronto, Ont.) with a 171, followed by sophomore Karen Levin (Morton Grove, Ill.) in sixth (172) and senior Sally Hartman (Tulsa, Ok.) with a 194 in 21st place.

The Panthers will hope for a bid to the NCAA Championships when the pairings are announced late Monday.
