Middlebury dominated play with a 59-8 edge in shots on the afternoon. Leading the way offensively with a goal and three assists was Annmarie Cellino. Three of her four points came during the Panthers effective power-play as Middlebury converted on three of six chances, including the first two in the opening period.
Linemate Molly Vitt had a goal and two assists, while Julia Ireland completed the line with a pair of goals. Erika Nakamura had the only goal not contributed to by Ireland, Vitt or Cellino as she fired in a slapshot from the right point at 7:51 of the first period to make it a 2-0 game. Just 39 seconds earlier, Ireland got things started with a man-advantage goal from the left circle while Vitt finished off the three-goal first period with another power-play tally at 12:40 with a redirect of a slap shot. Cellino added a second-period goal and Ireland finished things off with a power-play goal at 14:12 of the final period.
Wesleyan goalie Rachel Stemerman tied her career record for saves in a game as she notched 54 for the second time this season. Panther keeper Lexi Bloom needed to make only eight saves to post her first shutout of the year.
