Fabian and Pfaff Honored

11/10/05 - Middlebury College women’s soccer players Caitlin Fabian (Short Hills, N.J.) and Ashley Pfaff (Charlotte, Vt.) were both named to the All-NESCAC teams today. The duo helped lead the Panthers to a 7-6-2 season and a trip to the NESCAC Tournament.

10/30/05 - The Middlebury College women’s soccer team saw its season come to an end as they fell 5-1 at Bowdoin in a NESCAC Tournament first-round match-up. The Panthers end their season with a 7-6-2 overall record.

Women's Soccer Beats Trinity, Panthers Travel To Bowdoin

10/29/05 - Caitlin Parker assisted on the game-tying goal and scored the game-winner 51 seconds into overtime to lead the visiting Middlebury College Panthers to a 2-1 victory over the Trinity College Bantams in the NESCAC regular season finale. The Panthers will travel to Bowdoin for a NESCAC first-round game on Sunday.

Women's Soccer Falls In OT To Plattsburgh

10/26/05 - Elysa Lafountain scored with a low hard shot from 15 yards out in overtime to lift Plattsburgh to a 2-1 win over Middlebury on Dragone Field. The Panthers end their regular season at Trinity on Saturday and then will play a NESCAC Tournament first-round game on the road on Sunday. Plattsburgh ends its regular season at 12-5-1.

10/23/05 – Middlebury dropped its second game in as many days as they fell at Amherst 2-1 on Sunday. The Panthers fall to 6-4-2 (3-3-2 NESCAC).

Women's Soccer Falls At Bates

10/22/05 - Bates out shot Middlebury 25-11 on its way to a 2-0 shutout over the Panthers in NESCAC action. The Bobcats move to 5-2 in NESCAC play, while Middlebury falls to 3-2-2. The Panthers will play a make-up game at Amherst on Sunday.

10/15/05 - Middlebury notched a key 1-0 win over conference rival Williams, on a very wet Saturday afternoon on Dragone Field.  The Panthers entered the game third in the NESCAC and ranked 10th in New England, while the Ephs were first in the conference and ranked second in the region.

10/11/05 - Middlebury won its third straight game as they earned a 6-0 shutout over Plymouth State on Dragone Field. The Panthers return to action on Saturday, when they host Williams at noon in a key NESCAC match-up.

Pfaff Ties Goal-Scoring Record

10/5/05 - Middlebury rookie Ashley Pfaff scored four of the Panther’s eight goals, as Middlebury defeated Castleton 8-2 on Dragone Field. Her four-goal effort ties Leah Cumsky-Whitlock, who tallied four back in ’01.

Pfaff Named NESCAC Player of the Week

10/3/05 - Middlebury College women's soccer player Ashley Pfaff (Charlotte, Vt.) have been named the NESCAC Player of the Week.

Pfaff had a huge week for the women leading them to a 1-0-1 record in a pair of NESCAC games. On Sunday, the rookie forward went on a tear for the Panthers, scoring three straight goals to give her squad a 3-1 lead before an eventual 3-2 victory. Pfaff now leads her squad in goals with five markers so far this season. The Middlebury women will host Castleton on October 5th at 4:00 p.m.

10/2/05 - Middlebury rookie Ashley Pfaff notched a hat trick as the Panthers topped Bowdoin 3-2 in a key NESCAC contest on Dragone Field. The Polar Bears entered the game ranked second in New England.

Middlebury And Wesleyan Battle To A Scoreless Tie

9/2405 - The Middlebury women’s soccer team moved to 2-2-1 on the season as the played 110 minutes of scoreless in a tie at Wesleyan. The Panthers held a 16-9 shots advantage in the game, but could not find the back of the net. Adele Plunkett earned her second shutout of the season with four saves.

9/21/05 - Despite out shooting its opponent 15-7 and dominating a majority of the game, the Middlebury women’s soccer team came away with a 1-0 road loss at Keene State on Wednesday night.

Cronin Named NCAA Woman of the Year

9/20/05 - Middlebury College women’s soccer player Brittany Cronin (Centennial, Colo.) has been named the Vermont State winner of the NCAA Woman of the Year Award. Cronin graduated last spring after a tremendous four-year career on the soccer field at Middlebury.The NCAA Woman of the Year Award honors standout female student-athletes who have achieved excellence in academics, athletics and community leadership. Twenty-nine winners are from Division I schools, 16 from Division II and six from Division III. Each NCAA member institution was invited to nominate one student-athlete.

9/17/05 - Middlebury suffered its first loss off the season as they fell at Tufts, 3-0. The Panthers were out shot 11-9 on the afternoon, and had some good chances, but could not find the back of the net.

Women's Soccer Wins At Norwich, 5-0

9/14/05 - Middlebury out shot Norwich 34-2 on the day and shutout the Cadets, 5-0 in their first road game of the season. The Panthers scored four goals in the first half, two from Erin Oliver and two from Erin Pittenger.

Women's Soccer With Comeback Win Over Conn. To Open Season

9/10/05 - The Middlebury College women’s soccer team scored three goals in the game’s final 20:05 to earn a 3-2 come-from-behind victory over Connecticut College in their season-opener on Dragone Field. The Panthers return to action at Norwich on Wednesday.

Women's Soccer Reserve Tryouts

9/6/05 - The Middlebury Women's Soccer Program will conduct tryouts for its Reserve Team on Monday, September 12th at 4:30pm. The session will take place on the women's practice field, which is located behind the Kenyon Arena. 

Players interested in coming out for the team must first complete two online forms, found at https://herc.middlebury.edu/sportsmed/index.php.
