Demers & Rotherham Earn N.E. Honors

Two members of the Middlebury College women’s soccer team were honored when the NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America) named its All-New England teams. Junior Anjuli Demers (Dracut, Mass.) earned third-team honors, while senior Lindsay Rotherham (Bozeman, Mont.) earned a spot on the fourth-team. The duo helped lead the Panthers to an 8-6-2 record, including a 5-2 mark in their final seven games with a trip to the NESCAC semifinals.

Women's Soccer Players Earn NESCAC Honors

Junior Anjuli Demers (Dracut, Mass.) earned first-team honors, while seniors Caitlin Parker (Seattle, Wash.) and Lindsay Rotherham (Bozeman, Mont.) were both named to the second-team. The three helped lead the Panthers to an 8-6-2 record, including a 5-2 mark in their final seven games with a trip to the NESCAC semifinals.

Women's Soccer Falls To Amherst In NESCAC Semi's

Meg Murphy scored with 12 minutes and 47 seconds left Saturday to break a scoreless tie and send second-seeded Amherst to a 1-0 win over third-seeded Middlebury in the NESCAC semifinals. The Jeffs (11-1-3) advanced to the NESCAC championship game Sunday at noon, where they will face top-seeded Williams (15-0-1), the defending NESCAC champions. Middlebury ends its season at 8-6-2.

Defending NESCAC champion Williams College will look to claim its second-straight conference crown and third in program history this weekend as the Ephs host the final rounds of the 2008 NESCAC Women’s Soccer Championship at Cole Field in Williamstown, Mass. Top-seeded Williams will clash with fifth-seeded Bowdoin in the first semifinal on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 11:00 a.m. before third-seeded Middlebury squares off with second-seeded Amherst at 1:30 p.m. The 2008 NESCAC Women’s Soccer Championship wraps up on Sunday, Nov. 9, with the final taking place at 12:00 p.m.

Women's Soccer With Shutout Over Trinity In NESCAC Quarterfinals

Middlebury earned its third shutout in its last four games as the Panthers topped Trinity 2-0 in a NESCAC Quarterfinal contest on Dragone Field. Middlebury advances to the NESCAC semifinals at Williams next Saturday, where they will take on Amherst at 1:30. The host school meets Bowdoin in the other semifinal at 11:00 a.m. The winners meet for the NESCAC Championship at noon on Sunday. Middlebury moves to 8-5-2 on the year, while Trinity ends its season with a 9-6 mark.

Women's Soccer Falls At Williams In Regular Season Finale - Will Host Quarterfinal Sunday

The Middlebury women's soccer team ended its regular season with a 1-0 loss at Williams. The Panthers finish the season as the third seed and will host sixth-seeded Trinity in a NESCAC quarterfinal game on Sunday at 12:30.

Women's Soccer Earns Shutout At Conn.

Middlebury won its fourth consecutive game as they were 1-0 winners on the road at Connecticut College. With the win, the Panthers have locked up a NESCAC first-round home game and will host a contest on Sunday, November 2nd at 12:30.

Women's Soccer Blanks Bates

Middlebury won for the fourth time in its last five games as they picked up a 2-0 shutout victory over Bates on Dragone Field. The Panthers held a 23-5 shots advantage in the contest, scoring twice in the game’s final 13:02 to earn the win.

Parker Is NESCAC Player Of The Week

Middlebury College women’s soccer player Caitlin Parker (Seattle, Wash.) has been named the NESCAC Player of the Week. The senior captain had two goals in two key NESCAC victories for the Panthers last week. On Tuesday afternoon, Parker tallied the game’s first goal in a 2-1 win over Trinity. She added what proved to be the game-winning tally in a 3-1 victory against Tufts on Saturday afternoon. Parker now has three goals and an assist to pace Middlebury in scoring.

Middlebury (5-4-2) won its third game in its last four contests as the Panthers earned a 3-1 NESCAC victory over Tufts on Dragone Field. The Jumbos, who had allowed just three goals in seven games prior to today, including six shutouts, fall to 6-2 on the season.

Late Goal Lifts Women's Soccer Past Trinity

Annie Rowell scored what proved to be the game-winner with 5:20 remaining as Middlebury picked up a 2-1 NESCAC win over Trinity on Dragone Field. The Panthers move to .500 at 4-4-2 on the season, while the Bantams (4-4) have now dropped four straight after opening the season at 4-0.

Bowdoin goaltender Kelly Thomas saved a season-high nine shots and Kit Hamley's well-timed first goal of the season led the Polar Bear women's soccer team to a 1-0 decision over Middlebury Saturday at Pickard Field. The Polar Bears (4-1-3, 2-1-2 NESCAC) earn their second-consecutive shutout and fifth overall while the Panthers (3-4-2, 2-2-0 NESCAC) see their four-game unbeaten streak come to an end.

Middlebury scored three times in the final 25:19 of the game to extend its unbeaten streak to four as the Panthers picked up a 3-0 NESCAC road win at Colby. Gabriella Curbelo-Zeidman’s goal at 25:19 proved to be the game-winning tally as the Panthers emerged victorious.

Torch Wins Player Of The Week Honors

Middlebury College women’s soccer player Lauryn Torch (Bronxville, N.Y.) has been named the NESCAC Player of the Week.. Torch posted a stellar 2-0-1 record in net last week for the Panthers, allowing no goals over 290 minutes of action. She opened the week with four stops in a 2-0 win over Keene State on Wednesday, then made two saves in a 2-0 victory against Wesleyan on Saturday. Torch closed the week with eight saves in a scoreless tie with Skidmore on Sunday afternoon.

Middlebury picked up its third straight shutout as they finished in a scoreless tie with Skidmore on Dragone Field. The Panthers have not let up a goal in their last 309 minutes of play as they move to 2-3-2 on the year. Skidmore moves to 6-1-1 after a win over Smith on Saturday.

Women's Soccer Drops Night Game At Plattsburgh

Middlebury dropped to 0-2-1 on the season as the Panthers lost a non-league night game at Plattsburgh by a score of 1-0. Helen Drew scored the game’s lone goal at 57:23, with assists from Liz Radigan and Emily Riley. Kathryn Lind made four saves in goal for the Cardinals, while Lauryn Torch made three for the Panthers, who were outshot 8-7 on the night. Plattsburgh improves to 4-0-1 on the season.

Middlebury saw its record fall to 0-1-1 on the season as they dropped a 1-0 decision to NYU on day two of the Stevens Engineering Cup Tournament in N.J. Sarah Pillermer tallied the winning goal at the 81st minute to give the Violets the win.

Women's Soccer Ties Stevens To Open '08

The Panther women's soccer team opened up its '08 season with a 1-1 tie at Stevens. Middlebury returns to action on Sunday vs. NYU at noon in game two of the Stevens Engineering Cup Tourney.

The Middlebury women's soccer team has just completed a 10-day tour of Europe, stopping in the Netherlands and Germany for four matches against Dutch and German club teams.
