Peter Kim enters his fifth season as head coach of the women’s soccer program at Middlebury. In his first season at the helm, Kim led the team to 15-1-3 record, advancing to the NCAA Sectionals. Following the season, Kim was named the NESCAC Coach of the Year.
In '06, Kim again earned NESCAC Coach of the Year honors after leading the team to its second NESCAC title and a trip to the NCAA round of 16.
Kim joined the Middlebury staff in the fall of '03 as the top assistant coach. He was involved with all aspects of the program including practice preparation, recruiting and scouting. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the program holding both the USSF "A" License and NSCAA Advanced National Diploma, and over 10 years of coaching at the college, club and high school, and youth levels.
He played college soccer at the University of Vermont from 1989-92, and later earned his master’s degree in Public Administration. He is also an Associate National Staff Member and State Technical Director for the NSCAA, and a Regional Staff Coach for the Region 1 Olympic Development Program.
Kim has over a decade of high level coaching and administrative experience and has been involved with several soccer organizations throughout the state. In 2001 he was honored with the "Outstanding Contributor to Youth Soccer" award by the Vermont Soccer Coaches Association. Currently he serves on the board of directors for the Vermont State Soccer Association and directs Capital Soccer, a soccer education organization in Central Vermont.
