Bowdoin Comes Back To Defeat Women's Hoops

1/31/04 - Middlebury took the top-ranked team in the nation down to the wire, but could not hold on as Bowdoin defeated the Panthers, 60-53. Middlebury led 22-10 with 5:23 left in the first half, but the Polar Bears crept back into the contest. The deciding factor was a 5:12 scoreless drought for Middlebury from the 9:24 to the 4:12 mark of the second half when Bowdoin took a 53-44 lead. The Panthers came within two, but that would be all. Alexis Batten led the team with 16 points, Elyse Carlson scored 14, while Alexis Hollinger added 10 with 15 rebounds. (box)
