Women's Basketball Ends Season At NESCAC Tourney

2/19/05 - The Middlebury College women's basketball team saw its season come to an end as they fell 81-44 at Williams in the NESCAC Quarterfinals. The Panthers end their season with an 11-14 mark.

Williams opened the game on a a 14-2 run, taking a 37-21 lead into the halftime break. The Ephs gained a comfortable lead by opening the second half on a 20-4 run to take a 59-25 lead with 12:26 left to play. Williams kept up the pressure for the remainder of the contest, advancing to the NESCAC semifinals next weekend at Bowdoin.

Williams held a 52-35 advantage on the boards, forcing 19 Middlebury turnovers on the day. Maryanne Verzosa led the Panthers with nine points, Alanna Young added eight, while Kate Fisher scored seven.
