Women's Basketball Suffers Loss at Bates

1/21/05 - Middlebury moved to 1-2 in NESCAC play as they suffered a 75-50 loss at #9 Bates. The Bobcats came out strong, scoring the game's first 13 points. The lead grew to as many as 23, before the Panthers closed the half on a 10-4 run to trail by 17 at the break. Bates stayed tough in the second half, increasing the lead to 35 before Middlebury chipped away to make it a 75-50 final.

The Panthers shot just .296 in the first half and were out rebounded 47-32 in the game. Micaela McVary led the team with nine points and seven rebounds.
