Middlebury Rolls Plymouth

Middlebury placed four players in double figures on its way to a 73-53 win over Plymouth State in Pepin Gym. The Panthers return to action when they host Green Mountain on Thursday, while the PSU Panthers host Rhode Island College on Saturday.

With the game tied at six, Middlebury slowly increased its lead, holding a 21-11 advantage with 6:45 left in the first half. The Panthers made 12 of 15 first half free throws to take a 32-17 lead into the halftime break.

Plymouth State cut into the lead early in the half behind five points from Lauren Daniels to make it a 37-26 game with 16:20 remaining. The Panthers answered that with a 10-0 run over the next six minutes to take a 53-32 lead midway through the second half. The advantage remained at 20 or more for the remainder of the half as Middlebury picked up the win.

Jennifer Kelleher led the team with 16 points, while Ashley Barron scored 15. Emily Johnson added a dozen points with three three's, while Lani Young scored 10 and grabbed 13 boards.

Laura Kent led Plymouth with 11 on four of five shooting, while Daniels netted eight.
