Women's Hoops Opens With A Win

The Middlebury women's basketball team opened up its season with a 69-59 win over Heidelburg at the Swarthmore Tournament. The Panthers shot .489 from the floor and will return to action in the title game on Sunday.

Middlebury had four players in double figures on the season-opener, led by Emily Johnson's 19 points and seven assists. Aylie Baker added 14 points on 6 of 11 shooting, followed by Katie Fisher and Ashley Barron with 13 points apiece. Lani Young grabbed eight boards in the game, while Baker pulled down 11.
