The first thing I thought when I was introduced to Middlebury’s campus was “I’m going to school at a country club.” The campus is noticeably beautiful and clean in a wonderful rural location. Having never experienced an environment like Middlebury, I was blown away by how gorgeous it is. Belle Harbor, which is about 20 minutes outside Manhattan, has a lot but nothing like the unspoiled natural beauty and serenity at Middlebury College. After the weekend I spent touring Middlebury, I was hooked!
What is the one thing that makes Middlebury College a special place for you?
Middlebury, to me, is a special place for a few reasons. The biggest reason is that all students have a multitude of opportunities to capitalize on. Everyone here can do anything from studying abroad in countries all over the world to joining one of many extracurricular clubs suited to their personality-- Middlebury has it covered.
What is your best memory as a player at Middlebury College?
The Middlebury women’s basketball team is really like a family. That will be the one thing I will miss and remember with the most fondness when this year is over. I know I will have these friends for life and that is truly a wonderful thing.
What have you learned from your sport that you will use in your everyday life?
I’ve learned many things from being on a basketball team. The most valuable life lesson that basketball has taught me is how to work together with many different people. In a high stress, high-pace game everyone acts and reacts differently. I consciously learned and am working constantly to make sure everyone is heard and that the environment around us is conducive to each girl feeling and playing her best. This is the biggest life lesson I will be taking from my time on Middlebury’s women’s basketball team.]]>
