Women's Basketball Suffers Loss To Norwich

Norwich placed five players in double-figures on its way to a 79-70 road win over Middlebury in Pepin Gym. The Panthers shot a solid .464 from the floor, but could not overcome 26 turnovers in the game, falling to 3-3 on the season. Norwich heated up in the second half, shooting .563 on its way to the win, as the move to 3-1.

Middlebury led the entire first half, including a 12-2 run at the 9:59 mark to take a 28-14 lead with 7:19 remaining. Seven of the points during the run came from Brittany Perfetti, while Ashley Barron knocked down a three. Norwich chipped away and cut the lead to 33-31 at the half, on a hoop from Jess Jaggars.

Middlebury continued to hold a slim lead for the first 10 minutes of the second half, until Norwich took its first advantage on a hoop from Christine Daniels at the 9:51 mark to give the Cadets a 57-56 lead. Norwich would not trail again as a pair of 6-0 spurts gave them a lead they would hold onto.

Allison Needham led Middlebury with 14 points on 7-9 shooting, while Alison Wells scored 13 on 6-9 shooting with eight rebounds. Kaitlyn Fallon scored seven with eight rebounds and five assists.

Ally Daniels and Tara Stevenson each scored 13 for Norwich, with Daniels dishing out seven assists. Jaggars scored 12, Karissa Doyon netted 11, while Christine Daniels claimed 10 points in the win.
