Women's Hoops Wins At Plattsburgh

Middlebury pulled away midway through the second half on its way to a 70-61 road win at Plattsburgh (2-5) on Tuesday night. The Panthers improve to 7-1 on the season, converting 24 of 32 free throws in the game.
The game was tied at 39 at the intermission, with Middlebury holding a slim second half lead until the Cardinals tied the game at the 12:40 mark. The Panthers followed with a decisive 10-2 run over the next five minutes to take a 64-54 advantage with 7:17 remaining. Maddie Moreau and Brittany Perfetti each scored four points during the run. The lead extended to as many as 12, before the Panthers settled for the 70-61 win.
Perfetti scored 19 to lead the Panthers, while Moreau added 18 points. Stephany Surrette scored seven with 10 boards, while Jesse Miller also grabbed 10 boards.
Kathleen Payne of Plattsburgh led all scorers with 20 points on 7-11 shooting from the floor. Taylor Amarando added 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Plattsburgh shot .511 from the floor, went 0-1 from three-point range, while converting just 15 of 24 free throws. Middlebury shot .339 from the floor and went 4-9 from long range.
