May 1, 2006

The Panther women's golf team continued its most successful spring in school history as they won the Spring Shootout hosted by Williams College at the Taconic Golf Club. First-year player Julie Ellenberger (Concord, Mass.) set the course record by a collegiate woman, shooting a 74 on day one of the tournament. She followed that up with a 77 to win the two-day event with a 151.

Placing fifth for Middlebury was junior Heather Gallagher (Toronto, Ont.) with a 171, followed by sophomore Karen Levin (Morton Grove, Ill.) in sixth (172) and senior Sally Hartman (Tulsa, Ok.) with a 194 in 21st place.

The Panthers will hope for a bid to the NCAA Championships when the pairings are announced late Monday.
