Women's Golf Opens Spring

The Panther women's golf team opened up its spring season with a second place finish at the Vassar Invitational. Ten teams competed in the event, as Amherst won with a 668, followed by Middlebury in second with a 670. Sophomore Courtney Mazzei (Larkin Valley, Calif.) led the Panthers with an overall third place finish, shooting a two-day total of 161 on the weekend. Senior Julie Ellenberger (Concord, Mass.) was tied for fifth with a 163, followed closely by rookie Flora Weeks (Seattle, Wash.), who was tied for eighth with a 164. Sophomore Jessica Bluestein (Tucson, Arizona) shot a 182, while sophomore Elizabeth Hirsch (New City, N.Y.) came in with a 192 to round out the Middlebury golfers.
