Women's Hockey Suffers First Loss

1/26/05 - The top-ranked Middlebury College women's hockey team lost its first game of the season as they fell at #3 Plattsburgh, 4-2.

Lorna Gifis gave the Panthers a 1-0 lead midway through the first period before the Cardinals tied the game early in the second. Plattsburgh took a 3-1 lead with a pair of third period goals before Gifis made it a one-goal game with her second of the night with 6:00 remaining. Plattsburgh gained some breathing room at 17:45 and then held off the Panthers to pick up the 4-2 win. Kate Kogut made 20 saves in goal for Middlebury.
