12/3/04 - Middlebury out shot <?xml:namespace prefix = "st1" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Amherst 38-12 on its way to a 4-0 win over the Jeffs in NESCAC play. The Panthers return to action on Saturday, when the host Connecticut College at 3:00.

After a scoreless first period, Lorna Gifis gave the Panthers a 1-0 lead as she scored from the slot on a rebound. Emily Quizon made it a 2-0 game as she one-timed a pass from Gifis for the power play goal at 6:17 of the second period. The Panthers took at 3-0 lead just 29 seconds into the third period when Quizon scored on a breakaway to make it a 3-0 game. Tory MacNeil snapped in a shot driving to the net at 12:51 for the game's final tally.

Quizon ended the game with two goals and one assist, while Gifis had one goal and two assists. Kate Kogut made a dozen saves in goal for the shutout, while Stacey Johnston made 34 saves for Amherst.
