Middlebury remained undefeated on the season with a 6-0 non-league road win at St. Anselm to start the new year. Karen Levin scored two goals and added three assists to lead top-ranked Middlebury to the win.
Emily McNamara opened the scoring for Middlebury in the two teams' first-ever encounter when she found a loose puck in front of the net at the 13:03 mark of the first period. Randi Dumont gave the Panthers a first-period 2-0 advantage just over three minutes later.
Abby Kurtz-Phelan scored an even-strength goal late in the second period to give the Panthers a 3-0 advantage, and added her second goal of the game at the 8:16 mark of the third period when she converted a pass across the slot from Shannon Sylvester on the power play.
Levin notched two late third-period goals to give the Panthers extra insurance, the first coming on the power play at the 14:38 mark, when she sent a shot in from the top of the left circle. Her final tally bounced in with less than three minutes left to play.
Berlin tallied 29 saves in the loss, while senior captain Kate Kogut tallied nine saves for Middlebury.
