Late Goal Lifts Middlebury Over Amherst

12/2/05 - Middlebury moved to 5-0 on the season with a 4-3 NESCAC road win at Amherst. Shannon Tarrant scored the game-winner for the Panthers with 5:22 remaining to break a 3-3 tie.
Middlebury came out charging, with three first period goals to take a commanding lead. Annemarie Cellino, Karen Levin and Emily Quizon each found the back of the net for the Panthers. Amherst answered in the second period with three of their own to tie the game at three after two periods.
The game remained tied until late in the third period when Tarrant netted the game-winner. Tarrant also dished out two assists in the game, as did Shannon Sylvester.
Kate Kogut made 15 saves in goal for the Panthers.
