Shannon Sylvester scored with 34 seconds left in the third period to lift Middlebury to a 4-3 win against host Hamilton College at Russell Sage Rink.

This game was the first New England Small College Athletic Conference contest for both teams. No. 2 Middlebury (2-1 overall) improved to 18-0 all-time against the Continentals. Annmarie Cellino and Alison Graddock paced the Panthers with one goal and one assist apiece. Molly Vitt added another goal.
