Women's Hockey To Host NESCAC Championship - Watch Live!

The Middlebury College women's hockey team will host the NESCAC semifinals and championship on March 8th and 9th in the Kenyon Arena. The Panthers will meet Colby at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Amherst meets Trinity in the other semifinal at 4:00 p.m. The winners meet for the NESCAC Championship and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door and are priced at $5 for adults and $2 for students.

Middlebury is now 10-4 overall in NESCAC Tournament play and are making their seventh consecutive trip in the NESCAC semifinals in the seven years of the tournament's existence. The Panthers have won four of the seven tourneys and will be hosting the event for the fourth time.

The Panthers had another impressive regular season, enjoying a 17-game unbeaten streak. Their only two losses of the season came at the hands of defending NCAA Champion Plattsburgh. Two of Middlebury's three ties came against Amherst, with the Panthers also earning a 2-2 tie with Trinity.

Middlebury leads the NESCAC in scoring offense and scoring defense this season. The Panthers allow a mere 1.00 goals/game, while scoring 4.21 goals/contest. Middlebury also leads the league with a .288 effective power play, while ranking second with a .899 penalty kill.

Junior Annemarie Cellino (12-29-41) leads the team in assists and points this season, while first-year player Anna McNally (19-17-36) is the team's leading goal scorer. Senior Karen Levin (7-17-24), along with juniors Erika Nakamura (13-10-23), Molly Vitt (7-9-16) and Randi Dumont (7-8-15) round out the leading scorers.

In goal, sophomore Lani Wright is 10-1-2 with a 0.98 GAA and a .949 save percentage, while rookie Lexi Bloom is 9-1-1 with a 0.97 GAA and .945 save percentage. The duo are one-two in the league in GAA and two-three in save percentage.
