Top-Ranked Middlebury Falls To #2 Plattsburgh

Middlebury saw its 17-game unbeaten streak come to an end as they suffered a 3-0 loss at Plattsburgh. The game was a rematch of the past two NCAA Division III championship games and was played before 1,052 at Stafford Ice Arena. The Panthers suffer their first shutout in 134 games.
Danielle Blanchard added another milestone when she opened the scoring midway through the game. She was credited with a game-winning goal - her nation-leading 22nd overall of the season. Julie Devereux assisted on the backhander that came at the 10:41 mark of the second period.
The Cardinals received some insurance tallies by Shay Bywater seven minutes later and Claire O'Connor in the third period.
Middlebury netminder Lani Wright had 20 saves, while Cardinals goalie Danielle Beattie stopped 23 shots for her sixth shutout of the season.
