The Middlebury women's hockey team scored four first period goals and never looked back on its way to a NESCAC road win at Bowdoin, 8-1. The Panthers held a 37-22 shots advantage in the game as Lexi Bloom (18 saves) and Becca Shaw (3 saves) combined to earn the win. Nora Bergman scored twice in the stanza, with junior defenseman Molly West's first career tally giving the visitors a 4-0 advantage after 20 minutes.
Corey Cooper's backhander was the lone goal for either squad in the second period and gave the Panthers a 5-0 lead. Haley MacKeen's first career score pushed the advantage to 6-0 early in the third. Bowdoin's Kate Pokrass put home a rebound off a Scooter Walsh shot at 9:56 of the final period to break up the shutout. Another first career goal - this one by Middlebury's Jamie Harisiades - and Anna McNally's late powerplay goal rounded out the scoring.
