March 15, 2013
Middlebury College women’s hockey player Madison Styrbicki (Edina, Minn.) has been named a second-team All-American by the American Hockey Coaches Association (AWHCA). The Panther senior is currently in Wisconsin with her team as they prepare to battle Plattsburgh in an NCAA semifinal game on Friday.
Styrbicki recently earned first-team All-NESCAC honors for the third straight season after being a second-team honoree as a rookie. She is ninth in the NESCAC with .46 assists/game, fourth among defenders, while being tied for fourth with .36 power play goals/contest.
The Panther defender has three solo goals this season and four two-assist games. She earned two assists in back-to-back wins over Bowdoin and Hamilton in late January and has 11 overall this season. Styrbicki has played in 109 career games at Middlebury, more than any other player in the senior class. She owns 18 career goals and 58 helpers for 76 points.
