Former Middlebury College two-sport standout Lauren Greer has joined the coaching staff at her alma mater. Greer will serve as the primary assistant coach with the women’s hockey program, while also helping out with the field hockey team in the fall. Greer is a former member of the Panther field hockey and ice hockey teams, graduating in the spring of ’13 with a dual-degree in Film and Media, and English and American Literature. She served as a team captain for both squads, earning All-NESCAC Academic honors all six seasons she was eligible.

On the ice, Greer was a two-time All-NESCAC selection, earning All-American honors during her junior year. Her teams earned a record of 80-24-9, winning two NESCAC Championships. The Panthers also advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals, semifinals and finals during her four seasons on the ice. She ended her career at Middlebury with 47 goals and 45 assists for 92 points in 97 career games.

Greer earned National Player of the Year honors for the field hockey team in the fall of ’12. She was also a three-time All-American, while garnering Regional and NESCAC Player of the Year for three consecutive seasons. The former NESCAC Rookie of the Year is the NCAA’s all-time leader in points/game with 3.56 and is second with 1.48 goals/contest. She is also tied for third in total goals (111) and is forth in total points (267) to go along with her 45 assists in 75 career games. All of the aforementioned numbers are Middlebury school records.

A three-time Dean’s List and four-time College Scholar at Middlebury, Greer was one of 58 winter student-athletes across all Divisions awarded an NCAA postgraduate scholarship. She was also one of two NESCAC Women of the Year nominees put forth by the league.
