Women's Lacrosse Set To Host NESCAC Championship

4/27/04 - For the fourth consecutive year, Middlebury College will be the host school for the NESCAC Women's Lacrosse Championship. Top-ranked Middlebury (13-0) will take on #16 Bowdoin (11-6) at noon Saturday on Kohn Field, while #9 Williams (10-4) will take on #3 <?xml:namespace prefix = "st1" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Amherst (13-1) in the other match-up at 2:30. The winners will meet for the NESCAC Championships and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament on Sunday at noon.

Middlebury enters the tournament after finishing its fourth straight undefeated regular season. The Panthers are now 94-7 over their last six seasons, with three NESCAC Championships and 10 straight trips to the NCAA final four.

Leading the team in scoring this season have been Nuala O'Donohoe (49-15-64), Elizabeth Renehan (26-17-43) and Michele Bergofsky (15-18-33). Becca Brakeley leads the defense, while Sarah Grenert allows just 5.09 goals/game in net.
