Women's Lax Improves To 11-0

4/17/04 - Middlebury improved to 11-0 and won its fourth game of the year by a score of 14-5, as they topped Bowdoin on Kohn Field. The Panthers held the Polar Bears to just one first half goal on their way to the win.
Elizabeth Renehan started things off as she scored just 58 seconds into the game to give Middlebury a 1-0 lead. Nuala O'Donohoe scored just 55 later to increase the lead to 2-0. Michele Bergofsky and O'Donohoe twice scored within 1:08 spans later in the half to give the Panthers a 6-1 lead at the break.
Bowdoin's Angela King scored twice in the first 4:59 of the second half to cut the lead to 7-3. The Polars Bears would then be held scoreless for 15 minutes as the Panthers increased the lead to 10-3 with 10 minutes remaining. Bowdoin scored twice in a 1:32 span to cut the lead to 10-5, but Middlebury rattled off the game's final four goals to seal the win.
Kim Walker scored two goals and assisted on three others for Middlebury, while O'Donohoe had four goals on the day. Renehan chipped in with three goals, while Bergofsky added two. King netted a pair to pace the Polar Bears.
Sarah Grenert made eight saves in goal for Middlebury, while Kendall Cox made 13 stops for Bowdoin.
