Women's Lacrosse Wins At Trinity

4/10/04 - (from Trinity SID) - Senior tri-captain midfielder Nuala O'Donohoe (Needham, Mass.) recorded a game-high six points on four goals and two assists to lead the visiting Middlebury College Panthers to a 13-7 win over the Trinity College Bantams in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women's lacrosse action this afternoon at Sheppard Field. Middlebury, ranked No. 1 in New England and in the nation, improves to 9-0 overall and 6-0 in the NESCAC, while Trinity drops to 5-4 overall and 3-3 in the league with its first loss in three games.

Middlebury scored three goals in the first 1:24 and never looked back, taking a 9-3 lead at the half before Trinity rallied to outscore the Panthers, 5-4, in the second stanza. Trinity junior attacker Beatrice Gratry (Hunting Valley, Ohio) matched O'Donohoe with four goals, while sophomore midfielders Schuyler Winstead (Chevy Chase, Md.) and Elizabeth Renehan (St. Davids, Pa.) each scored twice for the Panthers. Freshman goalie Kate McNerney (Mendham, N.J.) made six saves and allowed just one goal in 22 minutes for Trinity, while senior tri-captain Sarah Grenert (Sewickley, Pa.) stopped 11 shots in 36 minutes in goal for Middlebury.
