Women's Lacrosse Tops Wesleyan

3/27/04 - Top-ranked Middlebury scored six unanswered goals in the second half on its way to an 11-5 win over Wesleyan in NESCAC action on Kohn Field. The Panthers hand Wesleyan its first loss of they season, while they improve to 5-0 overall.

After 13:39 of scoreless action, Nuala O'Donohoe opened the scoring for Middlebury cutting to the goal with a nice feed from Michele Bergofsky. The Panthers added three more goals to take a 4-0 lead into the halftime break.

Middlebury came out firing in the second session, with three goals in the first 6:19 of the half to increase the lead to 7-0. Elizabeth Renehan and Beth Seeley scored 47 seconds apart to make it a 9-0 game before the Panthers scored to more to take an 11-0 lead with 12:38 left to play. Wesleyan then came alive, scoring the game's last five goals. New Haven, Vermont native Lauren Ogden scored the team's first goal on a free position with 12:06 left to play. The Cardinals scored twice more before Ogden struck again at the 6:01 mark. Becca Vogel scored the game's final goal at 4:36 to make it an 11-5 final.
