Women's Lacrosse Wins At Wesleyan

4/9/05 - Middlebury improved to 6-1 on the season as the Panther women's lacrosse team defeated Wesleyan 16-11. Middlebury entered the game ranked second in the latest Division III national poll.
The Panthers led 3-1 before three straight Cardinals goals tied the game at four with 16:18 left in the first half. Middlebury came back to score three of the half's final four goals, including a pair by Liza Humes, to take a 7-5 lead at the break.
The lead grew to 9-5 early in the second half, but was cut to 9-8 after a three-goal run by Wesleyan that ended at the 17:10 mark. The Panthers netted a pair of goals before the team's exchanged the next six goals to leave Middlebury with a 14-11 lead with 3:23 left to play. Kim Walker and Elizabeth Renehan scored the game's final two goals to seal the win.
Walker paced Middlebury with four goals on the day, while Renehan and Alison Perencevich added three goals apiece. Johanna Rosenfield made three saves in goal to earn the win.
