Big Second Half Lifts Women's Lacrosse Over Skidmore

Middlebury outscored Skidmore 8-2 in the second half as the #2 Panthers pulled away for a 15-8 victory over the 17th-ranked Thoroughbreds. Middlebury returns to action Saturday when they host Wesleyan at 11:00 a.m, while Skidmore visits Hamilton on Friday.
Middlebury led 4-1 midway through the first half behind two goals from Channing Weymouth. Skidmore then went on a 3-0 run, sparked by a pair of goals from Emily Clark to make it a 4-4 game with 9:52 remaining in the half. Kim Walker answered for Middlebury with a free position goal before the Thoroughbreds scored twice to take their first and only lead of the game on a tally from Megan McAdams with 4:10 on the clock. Middlebury scored the final two goals of the half to take a 7-6 lead into the intermission.
The teams exchanged the first two goals of the second session, before the Panthers ran off three straight to take an 11-7 lead with 24:31 left to play. Jordan McManama scored the final goal of the game for Skidmore at 22:38 before Middlebury scored the game's final four goals to earn the 15-8 win.
Weymouth led the Panthers with four goals on the afternoon, while Elizabeth Renehan and Alison Perencevich scored three goals apiece. Clark, McAdams and Lizzy Dickson scored two goals EACH for Skidmore.
Blair Bowie earned the win with 10 saves in goal for Middlebury, while Sarah Berheide made 14 saves in a losing effort.
