Women's Lacrosse Tops Conn.

Alison Perencevich tallied five scores, leading Middlebury College to a 21-9 victory over Connecticut College in NESCAC women's lacrosse action played in New London Saturday afternoon. Channing Weymouth chipped in with three goals and two assists for the Panthers. Schuyler Winstead added three goals and an assist for the winning side.

Connecticut College senior midfielder Kelsey Sullivan tallied a hat-trick for the hosts, finishing the day with three goals and one assist. Maggie Driscoll notched two goals and two assists for the Camels. Sophomore Sarah Miner dished out three assists for CC.

The Panthers opened the game with a 7-0 run. Channing Weymouth capped the rally with a score at 17:04 of the first half. But the Camels countered with three unanswered scores. Lindsey Coit put the Camels on the board with 13:59 left in the half. Camel co-captains Maggie Driscoll and Kelsey Sullivan assisted each other on the next two scores, making it a 7-3 game with 8:40 to play. The Panthers responded and netted three of the final four goals of the half. Channing Weymouth assisted Michele Bergofsky for a goal with just one second remaining, and the Panthers carried a 10-4 lead into the break.

The Panthers scored the first two goals of the second half and cruised to the 21-9 victory. Blaire Bowie and Whitney Wildrick combined for four Panther saves. Senior Alix Werner stopped 13 shots in net-minding duties for the Camels.

Middlebury will host Union College this Tuesday afternoon at 4:00 p.m.
