Women's Lax Wins Season-Opener

Schuyler Winstead had two goals and three assists Middlebury opened up its season with an 18-11 road win at Colby. Middlebury scored the final three goals of the first half to break a 5-5 tie and take an 8-5 lead into halftime. Junior attacker Liza Humes scored back-to-back goals in a span of 30 seconds to put the Panthers up 7-5. Elizabeth Renehan tallied with 12.8 seconds left in the half for an 8-5 lead.

Middlebury outscored the Mules by a 5-1 margin in the opening 10:36 of the second half to pull away. Michele Bergofsky had three goals and one assist for Middlebury. Renehen and Alison Perencevich each had three goals, while Channing Weymouth had two goals and one assist.
