Women's Lacrosse To Host NCAA Regional - Watch LIVE

The Middlebury College women's lacrosse team will make its 14th consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance when they host one of four, four-team Regionals this weekend on Kohn Field. The Panthers will meet Drew at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 12th, while The College of New Jersey will take on Cortland State at 2:30 p.m. The winners meet in the NCAA Regional Final on Sunday, May13th at 1:00 p.m. You can watch all three games live on D3cast.com - CLICK HERE to watch -
Middlebury earned its way into the tournament with an automatic bid after a 10-8 win over Colby in the NESCAC Championship game. The Panthers have now hosted and won all seven NESCAC Championship Tournaments and are 14-0 in tournament play.
The Panthers are 32-8 in NCAA play since they first qualified for the tourney in '94. Their .800 NCAA winning percentage is higher than all but one team (TCNJ) in the history of Division III lacrosse. Middlebury has also amassed an amazing 136-9 record over their last seven seasons.
Middlebury had advanced to the NCAA title game four of the last six years, winning NCAA titles in '97, '97, '01, '02 and '04. The Panthers have advanced to the final four every year they've entered the tournament (13). Head coach Missy Foote is in her 26th season at the helm of the program, sporting a career record of 317-71-1. Her .816 winning percentage is second all-time among her peers.
Middlebury enters the contest on a 13-game winning streak, dating back to an 11-10 loss at Salisbury on March 27. The Panthers average 13.5 goals/game, while allowing just 7.55 goals/contest.
Kim Walker has taken over the team-lead in scoring with 41 goals and seven assists for 48 points on the year. The NESCAC Player of the Year also leads the team with 42 ground balls, 46 draw controls as well as 29 caused turnovers.
Amanda Smith (25-22-47), Claire Edelen (21-23-44), Liza Humes (20-21-41) and Mimi Schatz (24-12-36) round out the leading scorers. Blaire Bowie is 14-1 with a 7.36 GAA.
