Women's Lacrosse Advances To NESCAC Final

Middlebury advanced to the NESCAC title game for the seventh consecutive year after a 15-5 win over Williams. The Panthers will take Colby, a 10-8 winner over Amherst, on Sunday at noon for the NESCAC Championship. Middlebury moves to 13-0 all-time in NESCAC Tournament play, while Williams ends its season at 6-8.

Middlebury came out firing once again as they scored seven of the game's first eight goals to take a 7-1 lead with 11:19 left in the first half. Six different players scored goals, with Reid Berrien netting a pair and Amanda Smith assisting on two of the tallies during the run.

Tina Nawrocki scored for the Ephs at the 9:55 mark before Katherine Entwisle, Kim Walker and Berrien scored to make it a 10-2 game at the half.

Elizabeth Pierce and Meighan McGowan opened the second half with a pair of goals for Williams to cut the lead to 10-4 at the 24:09 mark. The Panthers would then run off four straight goals to take a commanding 14-4 lead with 6:54 left to play. The teams exchanged the final two goals to make it a 15-5 final.

Berrien and Entwisle had three goals apiece to lead Middlebury, while Walker and Dana Heritage each scored twice. Amanda Smith dished out three assists in the win. Five different players scored for Williams, with McGowan earning a goal and an assist.

Blair Bowie played all but 1:30 in net for Middlebury, making nine saves, while Abby Taylor made eight stops for Williams.
