May 8, 2008

Three members of the Middlebury College women's lacrosse team have earned All-NESCAC honors. Seniors Katherine Entwisle (Lower Gwynedd, Pa.) and Reid Berrien (Westport, Conn.) have earned first-team honors, while junior Taryn Petrelli (Harrison, N.Y.) earned a spot on the second team. The Panthers are preparing for an NCAA Regional this weekend at Hamilton, where they'll take on Gettysburg.

Entwisle earns a spot on the first team after leading the Panthers with 45 goals in 15 games this season. She ranked second in the NESCAC this season with 3.0 goals/game, to go along with her six assists for 51 points. Entwisle recently scored her 100th career goal and now has 104 goals in 62 career games. She scored six goals earlier this season in a win over Wesleyan, while scoring five in a game on two occasions.

Berrien was a first-team selection after earning first-team All-Region honors in '07. The senior has been all over the field this season, leading the team with 36 ground balls, 30 draw controls and 32 caused turnovers. She also has scored 17 goals, including four in an NCAA Tournament win over Ithaca on Wednesday.

Petrelli earns second-team honors on defense for Middlebury. The junior defender has anchored a Panther defense that was third in the NESCAC this season with 9.0 goals allowed/game. Petrelli has played in all 15 games this season and has now played in 49 through her first three seasons.
