Women's Lacrosse Clinches Top Seed

Middlebury clinched the top seed for the upcoming NESCAC Tournament for the eighth straight season as the Panthers picked up a 19-6 win over Wesleyan on Kohn Field. Middlebury wraps up its regular season with a pair of games next week, before hosting the NESCAC semifinals and finals on May 3rd and 4th on Kohn Field.
Trailing 1-0, Middlebury scored the game's next five goals in a 4:25 span to take a 5-1 lead. Katherine Entwisle scored a pair during the run, while Mimi Schatz assisted on three of the tallies.
Elise Kaye answered with a free position goal for the Cardinals at 20:21, before Middlebury ran off seven straight goals to take a 12-2 lead into the intermission. Schatz and Reid Berrien each scored twice during a run that gave the Panthers a comfortable margin.
Wesleyan scored three of the first five goals in the second half to cut the lead to 14-5 with 17:19 remaining. The Panthers answered with a three-goal run to put the game away, as they emerged with a 19-6 win.
Entwisle ended the game with six goals, Sally Ryan netted four, while Berrien scored three. Schatz had a pair of goals and four assists on the afternoon. Kaye and Laurel Sticklor each scored twice for the Cardinals.
