Van Woert And Cronin Earn All-American Honors

12/13/04 - Middlebury College women's soccer players Brittany Cronin (Aurora, Colo.) and Els Van Woert (Shelburne, Vt.) were both named second-team All-Americans today. The duo helped lead Middlebury to the NCAA sectionals after a 15-1-3 season that saw them tie the school mark for wins.

Cronin turned in a tremendous season for the Panthers in '04. She set the school's single-season record for goals with 19 and points with 42. She ended the year with 19 goals in 19 games to go along with her four assists and six game-winning goals. The senior earned NESCAC All-Conference honors, while being named the league's Player of the Year. She was also a first-team All-New England selection.

Van Woert earns second team honors after earning first-team All-NESCAC and All-New England honors. She was a constant in goal, playing in 1738 of 1787 minutes this season. The senior led the league with a 0.52 goals against average and a .913 save percentage. Van Woert also had eight solo shutouts, along with three shared.
