Women's Soccer Ends Regular Season Unbeaten

10/30/04 - Middlebury ended an unbeaten regular season with a 2-0 win over Trinity on Dragone Field. The Panthers are the top seed for the NESCAC Tournament and will host the semifinals and championship on November 6th and 7th on Dragone Field. Game times and match-ups will be announced Monday. Trinity ends its season at 7-6-1.

After even play early, Brittany Cronin put Middlebury on the board with the game's first goal at 34:03. After taking a feed from Alexandra Citrin, Cronin found some space from 20 yards away and launched a shot over Brenna Shield and into the top left corner of the net. The game remained 1-0 in the second half, when a rocket by Katherine O'Brien almost tied the game for the Bantams, but she shot went wide with 3:45 left to play. Cronin scored her second of the game with just 12 seconds left as she cut to the goal from the end line before sliding a shot past Shield from 10 yards away.<?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Els Van Woert made eight saves in goal to earn her sixth shutout of the season. Shields ended the game with eight saves.
