Women's Soccer Earns Tie With Amherst

10/9/04 - Middlebury and Amherst competed for 110 minutes with neither team able to find the back of the net. The two teams settled for a 0-0 tie, with Middlebury holding on to the top spot in the NESCAC standings. The Panthers entered the game ranked fourth in <?xml:namespace prefix = "st1" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />New England, while the Jeffs held the third spot. <?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
Both teams had some great chances to score during regulation, but neither team could capitalize. Middlebury may have had the best chance to score when they tallied the apparent game-winner at the end of the first overtime, but the play was offsides.
Els Van Woert finished the day with 10 saves, while Piper Crowell made 14 saves in goal for Amherst.
