Women's Soccer Blanks Tufts

9/18/04 - Brittany Cronin led the Panthers to their third victory of the season with a 3-0 shutout over Tufts.  Cronin's two goals were her fourth and fifth of the week after scoring three against Norwich on Wednesday. 

Cronin opened the scoring at 19:39 when she broke away and beat the goalkeeper for a 1-0 lead.  At 20:20, Erin Pittenger sent a header across the center to Cronin who converted the pass for the 2-0 lead.  Mayo Fujii ended the scoring for Middlebury with a goal at 66:51.

Els Van Woert made eight saves in goal to give the Panthers their second shutout of the week, while Meg McCourt and Annie Ross combined for seven for Tufts.
