10/15/05 - Middlebury notched a key 1-0 win over conference rival Williams, on a very wet Saturday afternoon on Dragone Field. The Panthers entered the game third in the NESCAC and ranked 10th in <?xml:namespace prefix = "st1" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />New England, while the Ephs were first in the conference and ranked second in the region.<?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
Williams out shot Middlebury 7-3 in the first half, with the game remaining scoreless. Middlebury got on the board 3:34 into the second half, with the game's only goal. The goal came following a corner kick, when Caity Abshere sent in a low hard shot from the 18 that was redirected in traffic by Kim Walker.
Middlebury made the lead stand up, despite being out shot 16-7 on the afternoon. Adele Plunkett earned her fourth shutout of the season with eight saves, while Sarah Ginsburg made one save on the day.
