Walker & Abshere Earn N.E. Honors

Middlebury College women's soccer players Kim Walker (Ridgewood, N.J.) and Caitrin Abshere (Madison, Wis.) been named to the NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of American) All-New England team. The seniors helped lead the Panthers to a 15-3-1 mark this season, capturing the NESCAC Championship. The Panthers also won a pair of NCAA Tournament games, advancing to the sweet 16.

Walker earns first-team honors in the midfield for the Panthers, after earning first-team All-NESCAC honors. The senior was steady all season long for Middlebury, tallying four goals and three assists for 11 points. Her final goal came in an NCAA Tournament win over Western Connecticut. Walker ends her soccer career with 11 goals and five assists for 27 points in 58 games.

Abshere was named to the second-team, as she was earlier in the year when the All-NESCAC teams were released. The senior had another solid offensive season for the Panthers, scoring six goals and dishing out five assists for 17 points. She ends her career as the school's all-time leader in assists with 24 in 62 games. Abshere also has 18 goals and 60 points in her four years, putting her sixth on the school's points list.
