Middlebury moved to 4-0 on the season as they picked up a 1-0 win over Wesleyan in a NESCAC match-up on Dragone Field. Wesleyan falls to 3-2 on the season.
Middlebury's goal came early, as the team netted the game-winner 18:02 into the game. Catrin Abshere centered a pass to Walker, whose chip shot was tipped into the lower right corner by Erin Pittenger for the game's only goal.
The Panthers thought they had a 2-0 lead at the end of the first half, but the goal was waved off due to an offsides call. Middlebury continued to have some excellent scoring opportunities in the second half, but could not gain any breathing room. Abshere hit the post in the 70th minute, as did Carly Berger with a shot from the outside in the 88th minute. Wesleyan's best chance to score came with 8:55 remaining as Becky Malik's hard shot from the right side was saved by Middlebury's Adele Plunkett, who ended the day with seven saves. Susan Gerhardt made seven saves in goal for Wesleyan.
