Women's Soccer Cruises Past Conn.

Middlebury scored five unanswered goals in the second half as the Panthers defeated Connecticut College 8-1 on Dragone Field in the season-opener for both squads.

Sharon Katz gave the Camels a 1-0 lead 9:39 into the contest with a chip shot from the right side of the box. Nora Tomlinson-Weintraub tied the game for the Panthers at 15:25 with a header, then gave Middlebury a 2-1 lead at 23:55 with her second tally of the game. Caitlin Parker scored the final goal of the half to make it a 3-1 game at the intermission.

Five different players scored second half goals for the Panthers to seal the win. Tomlinson-Weintraub had two goals and an assist in the game, while Tiffany Orlowski had a goal and an assist.

Adele Plunkett made three saves in 63:44, while Lauryn Torch made a save in 26:23 of action for Middlebury. Bailey Andrews made 10 stops for Conn. College.
