Favorito Named Scholar All-American

Middlebury College women’s soccer player Julia Favorito (Winchester, Mass.) has been named a first-team National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Scholar All-American. The senior helped lead the team to its most successful season in school history, advancing to the final four with a school record 17 wins to go along with a pair of losses and two ties.

Favorito had a stellar season for the Panthers, earning first-team All-American, All-Region and All-NESCAC honors. She was also deemed the NESCAC Player of the Year in ’13. The three-time All-NESCAC selection led the league with nine assists this season, second on Middlebury’s single-season list. She finished her career with 23 helpers, just one behind the school’s all-time mark. Favorito finished the season fourth on the squad with four goals and second with 17 points. The tri-captain played in 72 games as a Panther, scoring eight goals with 23 assists for 39 points.
