Women's Squash Finishes 12th Nationally

The Middlebury women’s squash team finished up its season ranked 12th nationally, earning a 16-6 mark. The Panthers competed in the Kurtz Cup, for teams ranked 9-16 nationally at Yale.

Middlebury emerged from the quarterfinals with a 9-0 victory over Franklin & Marshall. The following day, the Panthers were defeated by Bates by a score of 6-3, before falling 5-4 to Columbia in the bracket’s third-place game. At the end of the national tournament, Middlebury ended up third among Division III teams competing in collegiate squash.

First-year player Tiffany Hau (Villanova, Pa.), playing #4, went a perfect 3-0 on the weekend. Going 2-1 on the weekend for Middlebury were sophomore Charlotte Dewey (Greenwich, Conn.) at #1, junior Abby Jenkins (Latham, N.Y.) at #2, sophomore Annie Wymard (Radnor, Pa.) at #3, rookie Saskia Pownall-Gray (Weston, Conn.) at #6 , and junior Amanda Chen (Cranbury, N.J.) at #7.  

Seniors Lindsay Becker (Lawrenceville, N.J.), Molly Hubbard (Sandisfield, Mass.) and Annie Ulrich (Simsbury, Conn.)  concluded their four-year college careers, amassing 70 wins in that time span.
